5/15/2011

It was so nice to see you last week when you spoke at HOPE. The women all remarked how helpful the information you shared with them was and all seemed more relaxed after hearing your presentation. I suspect that for many of them fear and misinformation had been troubling them for some time. It was good to see them looking more hopeful about their finances after you spoke. Thank you again for all that you do for our students! I look forward to seeing you again soon!

5/05/2011

I would like to express my appreciation for the phenomenal job you did presenting at this year's Volunteer State Workshop. Each delivery was compassionate and professionally executed. 4/12/2011

I would like to express my appreciation for the phenomenal job you did presenting at this year's Volunteer State Workshop. Indeed we had some tough subject matter to discuss. Each delivery was compassionate and professionally executed. The remarks and feedback from our volunteers was that this was one of the best conferences they have attended. Thank you again and I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

3/16/11

Thanks so much for your enlightening Identity Theft workshop today at the ETRCC in Norwood. I appreciated all of the tips in class, as well as the great info you provided after.

12/7/10

Once again, thank you for coming to our COMPASS Community College Collaborative program. Your discussion diffused the intense focus on why we do what we do, but also came around to underscore it. All-in-all today's workshop flushed out a lot of fear- fear of failure, fear of success, fear of the truth. Helping students to face reality is a wonderful gift. As a follow up I will encourage students with more complex debt troubles to call ACCC to schedule a consultation. We are committed to helping our students become successful, self-sufficient and stable, and all this entails along the way. You and ACCC are an important part of this journey.

12/6/10

Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule and for making such a long trip to work with the students at Forest Park Middle School. On behalf of the staff and Junior Achievement, I can tell you that we greatly appreciated the help and effort you put into today's activities to make it such a success I hope you enjoyed it as much as the students and teachers said they did! I look forward to working with you in the future.

11/18/10

On Behalf of the Connecticut IPMA-HR, I wish to Thank you for sharing your insights and creative ideas with our group about how we can approach our personal financial management and work to establish a stronger credit rating. You really made this event productive and enjoyable.

11/17/10

Thank you for the presentation you gave to my Consumer Economics Class on consumer credit last week. The information you gave to my students will surely help them in seeking a credit score, applying for credit cards, and managing credit debt – material that students need now more than ever. I really appreciate you taking the time out of a busy workday to provide us with this special class.

11/9/10

Just a small token to say thank you for your "Identity Theft" presentation, sponsored by Neighborhood Falmouth and Caregiver Homes. We really appreciate your support!

10/20/2010

Thank you again for your informative presentation on Monday. I have to tell you that the students really responded well to the information you shared and were very excited to share their experience with their computer instructor on Tuesday morning. They really appreciated your balanced approach to presenting the facts and the empowerment that you imparted to them.

9/7/2010

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for teaching the class on Credit to Family Independence Initiative participants. The comments we got from the participants are overwhelmingly of satisfaction and appreciation for the personal and professional manner on which you delivered the training. In general, the information you presented was relevant and clearly delivered. On behalf of the participant families and our organization, I would like to extend our thanks for such a great delivery.

6/2/2010

Thanks you for taking the time to share your expertise with students enrolled in the Compass Community College Collaborative program.

Each time you speak I learn something new, and each time your presentation takes a slightly different angle depending on the class. In particular, I noticed in the afternoon session a student who didn’t want to join the class by sitting at the table became increasingly attentive as you spoke about credit and credit reports. It was as if she was hungry for information but did not want to let on that there was something she did not already know.

As I’ve said before, you have a way of disarming students, a way of being approachable instead of being “the answer man.” In spite of your nonchalance you manage to insert plenty of information into your workshop. It must have been very gratifying to answer so many of the students’ questions. I am especially appreciative that you are a wealth of sound information—of ten the students advise on another on dealing with a financial issue without having the knowledge to provide such counsel.

I expect some of your students will call ACCC to schedule a consultation—they seemed so relieved to realize that they could get sound financial advice at no cost!

Thanks again for coming and sharing your story and your expertise.

5/12/2010

Thank you for working with Chelsea Neighborhood Developers at out credit workshop on May 12, 2010. The information you provided to the 13 attendees about what data goes into a credit report and how to think about money management as a key ingredient to improving credit was an important first step for many of those attendees. I think they each walked away with some valuable lessons about credit, both generally and specific to their own situations.

I look forward to working with you and American Consumer Credit Counseling again in the future.

4/15/2010

The Independent Living Center of the North Shore and Cape Ann, Inc. is very appreciative of the Money Smart workshop you presented for ILCNSCA. As the regional agency of services and advocacy for independent living we truly appreciate this workshop which provided valuable information and support to the citizens with disabilities who attended.

We hope you enjoyed working with us as much as we enjoyed collaborating with you.
Again, thank you for your time and support to ILCNSCA and our struggle to overcome cultural barriers and to achieve independent living for all in the community.

3/17/2010

In the COMPASS Community College Collaborative we know what an invaluable service American Consumer Credit Counseling provides. You reach out to the underbanked in our society and help them understand some of the basics of money and credit. Thanks again for serving the students in our program by helping them to understand credit reports.

It is hard for those of us who grew up banking—even if it was only depositing our babysitting dollars in a saving statement—to realize how much mistrust of financial institutions is out on the street. It is harder still to appreciate the obstacle to housing and employment that bad credit presents. You always take a very soft-spoken, non-judgmental approach in dealing with our students—but you never shy away from telling the truth. Debt hurts. Debt doesn’t go away on its own. We appreciate your message and your manner.

Here at the CCCC I am constantly challenged by the need to improve our curriculum in order to facilitate transformation and not just give out information.

3/15/2010

You did a wonderful job dealing with the complications of your audience. You geared your vocabulary to the English Language Learners and simplified when necessary. At the center we often find some of the presenters of workshops do not deal with this as well. I thank you for your understanding and professionalism.
I look forward to having you return for another very informative and worthwhile workshop.

3/11/2010

We want to Thank You for your contribution to the Massachusetts LifeSmart State Competition. Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity Competitions were a huge success, thanks to you.

Again Thanks You Very Much and we hope to see you next year.

3/10/2010

We learned a great deal about credit and identity theft issues and resources. The resources we have learned we will continue to share with members of our staff and our client population. We hope to be able to work with you again in the future.

2/26/2010

I want to thank you for coming to do the Credit Workshop. I appreciate your presence and it’s a valuable service to our customers.

2/22/2010

Thank you for working with Chelsea Neighborhood developers at our credit workshop. The information you provided to our community residents on what data goes into a credit report , how they can map out a budgetary plan to give themselves that best chance at a clean credit history, and preparing participants’ individual credit reports for their review was greatly valued by all in attendance. I think that the participants each walked away with some valuable lessons about credit, both generally and specific to their own situations.

I look forward to working with American Consumer Credit Counseling again in the future.

2/1/2010

Thank you again for making it a priority to talk to the students enrolled in the COMPASS Community College Collaborative program about their credit reports. I appreciate all of the ways our partnership has grown over the past few years. At COMPASS, we are glad we can count on you to navigate the maze of the credit report.

We know that you would not be doing the job you do unless you had a commitment to the underserved in our population. We value the way you break down the language of finance into everyday words.

Every time you speak you share not only abundant knowledge, but also something about yourself—and I learn something new every time! Your message is not only informative, but transforming. Using your life as an example, you urge students not to be trapped by their past mistakes. You model the determination and perseverance necessary for success.

Your in depth knowledge of the banking and credit and the impact of it has on all of us is essential information for our students. We are so grateful that you take the time to come and speak—even though we are a small group—we need to hear what you have to say.

1/20/2010

I wanted to express my gratitude for the workshop you gave yesterday. It was very engaging and informative for our students. In addition to acquiring a GED, we encourage our students to think about their next steps and other ways to improve their lives and futures. This was a great step towards that direction. Everyone could use a little more education when it comes to their finances. We would love to have you back for up coming semesters.

1/5/2010

Thank you so much for the training last night. Although there were not as many participants as I would have likes to have seen, those that were there were given a lot of useful information. Also I think that you were very approachable and people felt comfortable asking questions of you. I would hope that we can work together in the future.

1/4/2010

On behalf of Financial Futures Initiative, I want to thank you for volunteering your time and expertise. Your mentorship is incredibly important. With your help, the Financial Futures Initiative’s money management classes are helping low-wealth communities get out of poverty permanently by increasing their financial awareness and financial opportunities. It is only through the time you have given and the dedication you have shown that this important mission is achieved. I hope that you consider volunteering as a Co-Facilitator in the future.

Once again thank you for all of your help, insights, and time.

December 10, 2009

Thank you for working with Chelsea Neighborhood Developers at our credit workshop.  The information you provided to our community residents on what data goes into a credit report, how they can map out a budgetary plan to give themselves the best chance at a clean credit history, and preparing participants’ individual credit reports for their review was greatly valued by all in attendance.  I think that the participants each walked away with some valuable lessons about credit, both generally and specific to their own situations.

I look forward to working with American Consumer Credit Counseling again in the future.

December 8, 2009

December 2, 2009

I would like to thank American Consumer Credit Counseling for taking time to present at our luncheon. Your financial knowledge and advice helped to make the event a tremendous success.

With your help, we were able to offer a valuable service to a diverse group of state employees.  Your financial expertise allowed the participants to broaden their learning of specific financial issues.

August 25, 2009

Once again, thank you seems too small, too short, and too little to say.

You managed to turn a grumpy group into an engaged, involved group. I think it is your style. You are disarming in your conversational tone and confident manner. Everyone truly wanted to hear what you had to say.

Thanks also for sharing about your life and your career-in so doing you made a strong connection with the class and modeled the perseverance necessary for success.

The workshop that felt fresh, even though I am familiar with the content. Whoever said talking about money, credit, debt, etc. couldn’t be fun? The students were engaged and involved throughout your entire presentation.

July 21, 2009

Thank you again for taking the time to share your expertise with the mothers enrolled in the COMPASS Community College Collaborative program.

As you are well-aware by now—the COMPASS Community College Collaborative helps single parents in family shelters develop their abilities to reach individualized self-sufficiency goals for work, community and home, via a coordinated program of Community College based education and support services, critical information and long-term coaching.

Instructors like you from the community provide a level of expertise beyond what we could offer. Your willingness to participate and act as a partner in this program shows your level of commitment to helping others achieve their goals in education and self-sufficiency.

In sharing about your life and your career, you modeled the determination and perseverance necessary for success.

Matt your interactive, conversational approach worked well. Talking about your life put you on the same plane as your listeners. You talked with the students not at them. You listened carefully to their concerns regarding credit and their credit reports, offering suggestions and giving explanations.

Again, we appreciate you taking the time to share your knowledge and experience with us.

June 11, 2009

Thank you again for taking the time these last three months to educate our clients about credit management. All of us have found your information very useful and timely given the current economic climate.

May 21, 2009

Thank you for your participation in ACCESS OPPORTUNITY: Boston’s Career and Information Fair held last week at the Hynes Convention Center. Hundreds of individuals visited the fair seeking advice from organizations such as yours with expertise in training and career services. The workshop leaders offered first-class and professional sessions in areas ranging from Resume Preparation, to Exploring the Green Economy, to Credit Repair and an Introduction to Health Careers, among other topics.

I spoke with many attendees who were delighted with the variety of organizations represented and the quality of guidance they received. At a time when so many people are looking for work or a chance to upgrade their skills, the career information fair gave them the opportunity to make sure their next move is the right move.

A skill and educated workforce is Boston’s greatest competitive advantage and the most cherished resource in the global economy. When we help people, we help the city. Thank you again for your efforts.

April 29, 2009

On behalf of Valley Works Career Center and the participants of the Professional Networking Group, I would like to extend our appreciation for the informative presentation you provided to us.

The panel topic you presented on understanding credit reports, credit scores, and how people can manage their bills and credit cards was a valuable part of “How You Can Survive a Layoff…Career Transitions and Your Finances.” The Networking Group took great interest in your presentation and asked many questions. Many of the attendees found your presentation very comprehensive and commented on the effort and time you put into the topic.

So Again-Thank You!

Dear LifeSmarts Coaches,

Thank you for your contribution to the Massachusetts LifeSmarts State Competition. The Massachusetts LifeSmarts program is successful because of the commitment made by you and your organization to support worthwhile consumer education programs for our youth.

By taking time to volunteer, you provide a positive role model for the students. The students work hard to make it to the state competition. Today they will challenge their knowledge with your guidance and continued support.

We are extremely thankful that you are able to partake in our first combined JV and Varsity Massachusetts State LifeSmarts Competition. Spreading consumer education to all of our youth during the current economic downturn provides them with a head start in the today’s world.

Thank you very much and we hope to see you again next year.

February 2, 2009

October 28, 2008

Thank you so much for the class you offered to our staff on budgeting and managing credit. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. All staff seemed to have learned a number of things that will help them with their personal financial situations.

August 15, 2008

The course you presented on managing debt is a timely topic considering the current economic conditions. Creating a budget that works amongst many rising costs is of great interest to our employees.

May 19, 2008

It was a pleasure to have ACCC come to speak on consumer budgets and credit. The students in the age bracket frequently have financial issues. I believe it is beneficial for them to not only understand factual information related to budgets and credit, but to also be aware of resources such as the American Consumer Credit Counseling, Inc. that can be used as a credible resource.

April 6, 2008

It was an excellent workshop and of great assistance to our students who often struggle with financial issues.

March 19, 2008

Thank you for providing the trainings regarding Budgeting/Credit and Identity Theft. The staff members here at the Department of Human Services that were able to attend these sessions were very appreciative of the training. March 11, 2008

We want to thank you for your contribution to the Massachusetts State LifeSmarts Competition. As we move forward with this program, we hope you will join us in spreading the word about this program.

March 24, 2008

Thank you for providing a workshop on “Repairing Your Credit” for WCAC’s IDA participants. The participants really enjoyed the session and learned a lot about how to read their credit reports and respond to information that is incorrect. February 25, 2008

Matt was a guest speaker during our Transitions to Adulthood class, a weekly life skills course taught by the GED Case Managers which covers a variety of topics including financial planning, higher education, housing, time management, and health and wellness. Matt provided our students with various useful materials and gave instructions on goal setting, budgeting, credit scores, credit cards, and checking & savings accounts. Our students were given the opportunity, through activities and discussion, to explore financial issues relevant to their individual circumstances, and Matt diligently tailored his lessons to address their specific concerns and questions. Our students are grateful for the materials and information that was presented, and we look forward to working with Matt or other members of the Operation Hope teaching team in the future!
