I appreciated that the counselor assigned to me when I walked in had several years of experience there. He was business like and professional, but also friendly and reassuring, which made me feel that he was a strong advocate for me. At the same time, I strongly sensed that he was qualifying and assessing my particular situation, and that he was not too quick to offer the ability and authority to consolidate my bills and reduce my rates and payments. To me, that lent even more credibility to the whole process and that the ACCC was a very legitimate, legal and fair agency to be dealing with. This actually helped me when it came to subsequent calls from creditors who were actually disparaging about debt-consolidation agencies. I also very much like that everything we spoke about, as well as the documents I signed and the budget we designed, were made available to me online to later review and to utilize going forward. Lastly, I find the evening and weekend hours during which time I can make phone calls with questions extremely helpful, because I can do so in the privacy of my own home as opposed to trying to do so at work. I have been very happy with the level of customer service from at least one of the other counselors there when I've called in. Overall, I feel that ACCC has been a tremendous service and very positive experience for me, and I'm glad it was listed on the mass.gov website. I feel that finally, as a middle/upper-middle class citizen, I've been able to derive some significant benefit when I needed it from the hard-earned dollars I've paid in taxes over the years. So thank you for that, and no - I personally can't think of a single way you could improve!
