4 Financial Benefits of an Early Morning Routine

For some, mornings are difficult. For others, it may be easy to spring out of bed and start the day. No matter where you fall, there’s no overestimating the power of an early morning routine. While it may be more difficult for some to implement an early morning routine, keep in mind that there are some financial benefits associated with getting in the practice of early morning habits. Our debt counselors recommend taking a look at them.

ACCC believes an early morning routine helps with physical and financial health.

Financial Benefits of an Early Morning Routine

While there may not be a direct financial incentive of an early morning routine; for example, if you wake up before 7:00 am, $10 will be deposited into your savings (in our dreams!), there are tons of other ways it can benefit your wallet. Here are some practices of an early morning routine that can result in good things for your finances.

1. Reflection – Taking a few moments every day to think helps you process the day before and set expectations for the day ahead. Reflection can help you have a plan and a purpose; two things that are also important when getting out of debt. Early morning reflection can help you perfect the mindset of setting intentions for good spending and saving during the day as well as staying on track for your larger goals.

2. Proactive – Being proactive is so important; don’t let things happen to you, make them happen yourself! In other words, be active, not reactive. Being proactive sometimes means taking action rather than reacting to stuff around you. It means setting your plans in motion. Think about it – you’ll never just magically reduce credit card debt. You have to take the bull by the horns and make it happen! Some ways you can be proactive in your early morning routine that will impact your finances could be making coffee at home or planning meals for the day to avoid picking up food that isn’t in the budget.

3. Healthy habits – As we already know, healthy lifestyles lead to healthy budgets. Eating a nice breakfast, working out or meditating, and generally just carving out time for yourself can do wonders for yourself and your budget.

4. More time in the day – Literally. An early morning routine may probably include waking up a bit earlier. This means that you have more time in the day to accomplish what you want that day. On the larger scale, that also means more active time for the week, month, and year! There will be more time to devote to yourself, side hustles and your goals. Even 10 minutes can make a world of difference.
