ACCC’s Sue Katz Presented Commander’s Award For Public Service

Department of the Army awards Katz fourth highest civilian public service decoration in recognition of Katz’s support for military personnel.

Award for Public ServiceNational nonprofit American Consumer Credit Counseling announced today that Sue Katz, Community Outreach Coordinator and Certified Credit Counselor, was presented with the Commander’s Award for Public Service by the Department of the Army.

The award is in recognition of Katz’ strong support of active duty, National Guard, Reserve Personnel and Veterans over the past eight years – particularly as it relates to providing vital financial education and military housing services. This honor is the fourth highest public service decoration that the United States Department of the Army can award to a civilian.

“This is a tremendous honor and ACCC is fortunate to have dedicated, hardworking people like Sue who contribute so much to our communities,” said Steve Trumble, President, and CEO of American Consumer Credit Counseling, based in Newton, MA. “Sue is dedicated and has provided critical financial education resources to so many servicemen and women in recent years. Katz has been working with American Consumer Credit Counseling since 2009. She is a Personal Financial Counselor/Educator and a Military Housing Specialist with over 30 years of experience in personal and corporate finance. She is also a small business owner, which provides her with a unique understanding of the economy and how it affects consumers.

As an outreach coordinator/educator, Katz’ primary focus at ACCC is reaching out to the military & veteran community to provide financial education, counseling, and other related services. Katz plays a vital role in helping American Consumer Credit Counseling to achieve its goal of empowering consumers to regain control over the quality of their lives through financial education, counseling, and debt management.
