Poll Results Infographic: Student Loan Knowledge

As a nonprofit credit counseling agency, ACCC is interested in learning more about consumers’ finances. Each month we post a poll asking questions about a particular financial topic. For the month of May, we wanted to understand the level of your student loan knowledge. Of consumers polled, 67% of those who currently have student loans don’t know the difference between federal and private loans. Consequently, 60% don’t know if they qualify for relief or forgiveness programs. 76% of respondents who currently have student loans are aware of their deferment or forbearance status. Finally, 62% of respondents have not taken a student loan counseling course. Where do you fit into this spectrum of student loan knowledge? See some more interesting findings in this month’s infographic as well as where you stand in your awareness.
