When it comes to finding cheap entertainment, you just can’t beat the library. Books, music, movies… the library has it all, and it’s free! Aside from the materials, many libraries also offer free events for children and educational workshops for adults. So there are even more reasons to go.
Here in Boston, the public library system allows you to browse and reserve books and DVDs, and even offers some digital downloads like albums and ebooks from their website.
They might not have all the latest titles available, but you can request that they order them. You can also request something from another branch. In the meantime, you can read or watch some of the classics that you may have overlooked in the past.
Find your local library and their website (if they have one) here: http://www.publiclibraries.com/
Need a new book? Need a movie? Need something to entertain the kids? Head to the library for free options.
*Note: the library is free provided you return the items by their due date. Otherwise you will have to pay a late fee.
