Consolidated Credit Counseling

Consolidated Credit Counseling Companies Offer Many Valuable Services

Most people who have heard about consolidated credit counseling companies believe that the only service available is debt consolidation. But in reality, that's only one of many services provided. A credit counseling agency's mission is to help its customers take control of their personal finances, no matter what stage they are in the process. They can give free or low-cost debt management advice on a host of money-related topics, such as buying a home, teaching your children about budgeting and credit cards, and saving for college.

ACCC's Consolidated Credit Counseling Services

American Consumer Credit Counseling (ACCC) offers a range of consolidated credit counseling services in five distinct categories:

Credit counseling – When you call us, we assess your financial situation. We talk about your goals and review your income, expenses, and assets. Then, based on the results, we will present money-management options to help you achieve your goals. Examples include educational resources, social service referrals, and our Debt Management Program.

Debt Management Program – If you are overwhelmed with a lot of unsecured debt (loans that are not backed with collateral, such as credit cards, credit lines, and department store cards), then our Debt Management Program may be your best option. With this plan, we show you how to consolidate your debt into a single monthly payment. Your monthly payments and interest rates may be lowered, and often extra fees are eliminated.

Bankruptcy counseling – ACCC is approved by the U.S. Department of Justice to provide pre-bankruptcy credit counseling. We evaluate your current situation to allow your and your legal counsel to make informed decisions. In many cases, we can even help you find manageable, effective alternatives to bankruptcy. We are also approved to provide post-bankruptcy credit counseling courses, also known as debtor education.

Housing counseling – As a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development approved agency, we provide access to information, tools, and resources that will help you achieve your housing goals.

Financial education – Our online resources include financial calculators and informative articles and videos.
